Frequently Asked Questions

What do you specialize in as a therapist?

I work with adults who are navigating trauma, grief, addiction, and anxiety. Many of my clients are high-functioning and outwardly successful, but inside feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected.

What is EMDR therapy and how does it help?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories. Instead of feeling “stuck” in the past, EMDR allows you to move forward with less emotional charge and more resilience.

How is trauma therapy different from regular talk therapy?

While talk therapy focuses on understanding your story, trauma therapy (including EMDR) also addresses how your nervous system and body store stress. This approach helps you feel lasting relief rather than just insight.

Do I have to relive painful memories?

No. Trauma therapy and EMDR are not about retraumatizing you. We work at a pace that feels safe. EMDR allows you to process old experiences without having to rehash every painful detail.

How long will therapy take?

Some people notice changes within a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. The timeline depends on your history, your goals, and how deeply you want to go in the work.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. I offer secure telehealth for clients anywhere in California, in addition to in-person sessions in West Los Angeles.

Can therapy help with anxiety, depression, or relationship struggles?

Yes. Trauma often shows up in ways that look like anxiety, depression, or challenges in relationships. Addressing the root causes can bring relief and improve many areas of life.

What can I expect in the first session?

Our first meeting is a chance to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what you’d like to work on, and what approaches may fit best. You don’t need to prepare — just come as you are.
